Overdue at LA Shorts

Our micro-series heads to the LA Shorts International Film Festival.

We're excited to share that Overdue has been selected for the LA Shorts International Film Festival.

Overdue is an 18-minute, five-episode micro-series created by Kristen DellaPace and Alex Skinner. Set inside a county library, the series follows Meg, a tightly wound librarian whose world is disrupted when Devin, a sharp, tech-savvy librarian is hired alongside her.

At its heart, Overdue is a romantic dramedy that puts the spotlight on one of the nerdiest professions and gives audiences characters to root for, laugh with, and hopefully a reminder to return their library books.

This version of Overdue was made to be small on purpose: five short episodes, one world, a handful of characters, and a tone that lives somewhere between workplace comedy and something a little more tender.

We're also hard at work looking to turn Overdue into a full 30-min episodic comedy.

Until then, we're grateful to LA Shorts for recognizing the series, and excited for this little library story to find a new audience.

The Start of Milosophy

The Start of Milosophy

My Philosophy — doing things our way.

The name says it all, if you look closely enough.

Milosophy. My philosophy.

For years, I have worked as an actor, showing up, learning lines, waiting. Waiting for the audition. Waiting for the callback. Waiting for someone to decide that today was the day they'd take a chance on me. There's a particular kind of helplessness that comes with that life. You pour everything you have into the work, and then you hand it over and hope. The decision, the one that determines whether your story gets told, belongs to someone else.

I got tired of waiting.

Milosophy is the answer to that frustration. It's the company I built so that I could stop asking permission and start making things happen. The name isn't just a clever portmanteau, it's a declaration. This is my philosophy: that the best way to be part of stories that matter is to be the one who makes them exist in the first place.

We are not waiting for the industry to hand us a seat at the table. We're building our own.

Everything we develop, produce, and release comes from that same place. A deep belief that ingenuity and care, applied consistently, can create work that lasts. We are a small company with an outsized commitment to craft. We don't make things to fill a slot. We make things because we want them to be made.

This is the beginning. We're just getting started.
